2016-2017 Basketball Try-Out Dates for JV & Varsity Teams

Monday, October 31, 2016:

3:15 PM to 4:30 PM (JV Boys Tryouts 9th & 10th grade boys)

3:30 PM to 5:00 PM (Varsity Girls Tryouts 9th-12th grade girls)

5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (Varsity Boys Tryouts 11th & 12th grade boys)

 

Tuesday, November 1, 2016:

3:15 PM to 4:30 PM (JV Boys Tryouts 9th & 10th grade boys)

3:30 PM to 5:00 PM (Varsity Girls Tryouts 9th-12th grade girls)

5:00 PM to 7:00 PM (Varsity Boys Tryouts 11th & 12th grade boys)

 

*Tryouts will take place at Fox Creek High School in the new gymnasium

 

*Cuts will be made after the 2nd day of try-outs

 

**To be eligible to participate in any out try-outs you MUST have a completed physical packet on file dated April 2016 or after—NO EXCEPTIONS**

 

**FALL SPORTS PARTICIPANTS WILL BE GIVEN A FAIR OPPORTUNITY TO TRY OUT ONCE THEIR SEASON HAS COMPLETED.

 

**The FINAL decision on who makes the Varsity and JV teams will NOT be made until the students who play a fall sport have been given a fair opportunity to try-out. **The FINAL decision on who makes the Varsity and JV teams will be up to the Head Basketball Coach—but will contain input from others (may be other coaches, teachers, staff members, admin).

 

The following is a partial list of criteria we will use to select our teams:

 

1. Academic Standing                 6. Potential

 

2. Classroom Attitude                 7. Ability to be Coached

 

3. Discipline                                8. Grade Level

 

4. Attitude & Character               9. Desire

 

5. Dedication & Commitment      10. Ability & Position
